The number of cards on the playing screen may have changed but the object remains the same. With each hand a player tries to come as close to '21' as possible without going over. Number cards hold a point value equal to that number. For example, a six of diamonds holds a point value of six. Face cards jack, queen and king hold a point value of ten. Aces hold a point value of 1 or 11 depending on how close a player is to '21'.

A game begins with a player receiving two cards per hand in bet and the dealer receiving one card. The player then makes a decision to take on more cards or stay with the initial two cards. Electing to play the two cards is referred to as 'stand'. Deciding to take on additional cards is referred to as a 'hit'. Once that decision has been made, the dealer reveals its second card.
In the even the player exceeds '21' this is referred to as a 'bust'. In the event the player and the dealer hold the same point value, this is referred to as a 'push'. Beat a dealer to earn double the bet amount placed.
