Strategy For Playing Vegas 3 Card Rummy - The Bonus Bet
If the dealer in a game of
Vegas 3 Card Rummy doesn't get the qualifying hand to play a game they are out and you win. You may know that the dealers hand has to be 20 or less in order to qualify, so for you to win, you also have to get less than 20. If you are dealt a hand that is higher than 20, you are going to fold, so it would be completely stupid to place a bet on a hand like this, good strategy dictates if you are holding a hand of less than 20, you should raise your bet.
Strategy for playing Vegas 3 Card Rummy dictates that there has to be some reasonable ways of increasing your chance of winning. This is achieved by playing on the Bonus Bet whenever possible. The reason why is easy to see on the pay tables, it has a better payout rate. The Ante bet must be placed in order to play, and this pays 4 to 1 for a hand carrying a total of zero, but the bonus bet increases the odds dramatically and if you have hand of zero, the bonus bet pays 25 to 1.
Now you are asking, how can you possibly get a hand of zero, this is simple, you have to get three 10 scores, and they cancel each other out, making a bit fat "0". 10-10-10 can be achieved by triples, a pair, and a two card and three card suit run.
If you wager $5 on the ante with a hand like this you win $20, but if you place the same on the bonus bet you win $125. If you were to get a suited run of A-2-3, you could win 100 to 1, on a $5 bonus bet, this is $500. So make sure if you have a good hand and you are playing a $10 wager, half goes on the ante and half goes on the bonus bet.
