Innovative Variations of Blackjack

Besides poker and slots, blackjack is probably one of the most popular online forms of gaming. This game has done incredibly well for many online casinos, and the reason for this is because it is such an incredibly fun and easy game to play. Bearing this in mind, many variations of the game have cropped up, it lends itself easily to innovation, so lets take a look at a couple of these innovative variations.

Although it is a simple game to play, anyone playing blackjack has to concentrate, have a keen eye, and nerves of steel; oh, and luck really counts in this game!

Blackjack is based on winning with a hand of cards and a count of 21, in fact in Nevada's casinos the game is called "21". In the UK the name Blackjack has come into play to differentiate it from the game of Pontoon, in which 21 is also required for a win, this game is named after the French "Vingt et Un", which actually means "21".

One game that is very popular amongst online casino gamers is 'Blackjack Switch'. In this game the player has control over two hands, each with a betting pocket. Both hands must be wagered on equally initially. Both hands are played separately and players are able to hit, stand and double on each hand. Before the first move is made, the player is also allowed to exchange the top two cards of these hands and it is here that the name "Switch" evolves from.

In the 'Spanish 21' variant, doubling down is allowed on any amount of cards, and there are a large amount of rules which makes this a player friendly game. It is popular because the house edge is lower.
