Lay the Odds in Craps and Increase Your Bet
Once you have learned how to
play online craps, and you know all the rules of the game, you will find that you can place an additional wager behind the Pass Line. This is known as laying the odds and it obviously increases your wager. Doing this will also increase your chance of winning as the payout is better than the normal 1:1 that you get by wagering on the pass line.
Wager on the six and eight and increase the odds to 6:5, lay the odds on five and nine and it will pay 3:2, and on four and ten this is 2:1. This bet is lost if a seven comes up before the point is made, but laying the odds has an additional advantage, because there is no house edge on these wagers. House edge is the percentage of the wager taken by the house (casino) for their gain.
You can only lay the odds if you already have a pass line bet and the house does have an edge on this bet, but any winnings you make laying the odds is all yours. This is the best possible bet of any other casino game, and you can only get it in craps, so bear this in mind when you play, it will give you a huge advantage.
The Place Bet is another popular craps wager, and this is done by wagering on what the shooter will roll. They have to roll a point first, so say for arguments sake this is 6. The shooter will now have to roll a seven, but if you put a place bet that he will roll an eight, your wager will pay back 7:6, however you can only place a $6 or increments of this bet, the same applies to odds of 7:5 and you can only bet in increments of $5, but it makes for some very interesting play.
