Sportingbet Announces $1.5 Million Win

CryptoLogic Won't be Affected by Dutch Gambling Decision
CryptoLogic, one of the industry's leading software providers, has expressed its disappointment in the Dutch parliament's decision to block Holland Casino's plans to establish an online gambling site, of which the company was part of the deal. However, it was quick to announce that it would not be affected materially in any way by the narrow 37:35 vote.
"CryptoLogic never places all its bets on one table," said Brian Hadfield, the company's President and CEO. "That's why this decision will have no material impact on our business. We recognized the challenge in Holland early and prepared our business by accelerating other revenue-generating initiatives."
CryptoLogic will be releasing brand new games in the coming months, including non-download poker offerings. Other projects include providing software to the World Poker Tour's German and Spanish online casino sites, as well as to Betsafe and Sun Poker.

Belgian Court Rejects French Tennis Federation's Case Against Gambling Companies
A court in Liege, Belgium has rejected the case brought by the French Tennis Federation against three European gambling companies in a bid to prevent them from accepting bets on tennis tournaments. Although the FTF said that the gambling activities by BWin, Ladbrokes and Betfair were 'staining' the sport's reputation, and demanded an immediate stop plus a fine of 5000 Euros a day for violating the ban, the Belgian judge thought differently and dismissed the case altogether.
EGBA's Secretary General Sigrid Ligne said after the ruling: "EU-licensed bookmakers are professionals that have a high level of expertise, know-how and risk management skills. This has been clearly recognized by the Belgian judge looking at the fact-based evidence to dismiss all the claims in this case."
The Belgian court was satisfied that the gambling companies had done all they could to ensure that no illegal activities were taking place and that sufficient steps were taken to counter underage and problem gambling.
