Barney Frank's challenge to UIGEA
Barney Frank (Dem), who called the UIGEA as one of the most stupidest of laws ever passed, today introduced the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007. This proposed act would create an exemption to the UIGEA for properly licensed operators.
The proposed legislation would bring transparency to online gambling and to provide consumer protection. Barney Frank explained that the existing legislation is an interference on the personal freedom of Americans and this should be undone.
