French Tennis Federation loses bid to ban online betting
The French tennis federation failed in its bid to ban internet betting on Roland Garros after a Belgian court ruled online betting firms Ladbrokes, Betfair and Bwin were not guilty of encouraging corruption.
A secondary claim that the companies' offer of tennis betting markets amounted to profiteering by "parasites" was also thrown out. The bookmakers were awarded costs in both cases.
