space walk is a manual that you like turn left and right with. basically carving while in manual. its hard to learn and requires alot of balance but its fun to do. i learned it on my skateboard first cause its easier, then transferred onto my dervish

I'd go with the Vanguard if you want something stable. Civeches arent as good carvers. I can sell you one for cheap if you go with the Vanguard.

Breaks in. I thought the same exact thing the first time I rode my friends but it just takes getting used to. Doesn't help that he bought a flex 1 either. But its nothing like the dervish. Dervishes turn radius is just insane. So just stick with it and you'll find that it's a good board. Hard to manual though cause there's barley a nose.
